Lois M. Horine

Lois was born on December 15, 1924 in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. She graduated from Washington High School in Two Rivers, and attended Prospect Hall Secretarial School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After graduation, Lois accepted a position as an executive secretary at A.O. Smith in Milwaukee. While attending a band concert in Washington Park, Lois met Les, and they married in May of 1951. They enjoyed a happy 49-year marriage until Lester’s passing. In 2001, Lois married another wonderful man, Jarrett (Jack) Horine, and they enjoyed one year together until Jack’s passing. Lois and Jack made the very most of that year by traveling the United States visiting family.

In Manitowoc, Lois worked at Manitowoc County Bank, and Eastman Employees Credit Union, eventually becoming its president. When Lois and Les retired, they moved to Fort Myers, Florida, where she used her administrative skills to work part-time for Shell Point Village and Benson’s Property Management, LLC.

Lois had a tremendous zest for life, which manifested itself in so many ways! She was an accomplished soprano vocalist, spending many Sunday mornings as a soloist in area churches. She directed the First Baptist Church Choir, took part in the Monday Music Club and Ensemble, and volunteered for the Community Concert Association of Manitowoc on an annual basis, bringing in new members every year to appreciate the arts she loved so well! She was also very active life long, playing golf and tennis, bicycling, hiking, ice-skating, swimming, and walking.

In addition to her parents, Dr. Albert Naidl and Mayme (Pazdera) Naidl, Lois was predeceased by her first husband, Lester Ahlswede; her second husband, Jarrett E. Horine; her brother, Dr. Harry Naidl; and sister-in-law, Laura June Waak Naidl. Survivors include daughters, Lyn Messemer (Robert); Lori Rogers (David); stepson Jarrett B. Horine (Kim); stepdaughter Kerry (Don); grandchildren, Stephen Messemer (Brittany); Lauren Messemer; Andrew Rogers (Katy); Elizabeth Rogers; Bradley Ward: Christopher Ward (Kristen); sister-in-law, Patricia Vivier-Naidl; niece Margaret Naidl (Mark); and nephew, Andrew Naidl (Amanda)

Richard W. (Dick) Robinson

Richard W. (Dick) Robinson

Richard (Dick) Robinson 93, of Mequon, WI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at Aurora Medical Center, Grafton. He was born on December 22, 1928, in Racine, WI to Clement and Claire Robinson. Dick grew up in the Milwaukee area, graduating from Pius XI with the class of 1946. Following high school, he served in the Marine Corps from 1946-1950 in Panama. A lifelong baseball fan and pitcher, he was signed by the Cincinnati Reds to a minor league contract before earning his degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Tulsa in 1957. His career included positions with Humble Oil & Refining Co., New Jersey; Shamrock Plastics, Canada; General Electric Plastics as a pioneering salesman for Lexan; and Husky Injection Molding in Canada before acquiring Kaysun Plastics Corporation in Manitowoc in 1975. He retired in 2003 and sold the business in 2008.

Dick is survived by his wife Gail Robinson; his children Dave (Mary Ann) Robinson, Newton, WI; Tom (Ning) Robinson, Clarkston, MI; Steve Robinson, Lexington, KY: Laura Steffen, Elgin, IL; Heidi Harrison, Plymouth, WI; Meg Harrison, Milwaukee, WI; Sam (Megan) Harrison, Kiel, WI; Heather Harrison, Milwaukee, WI; and Ben (Jenny) Harrison, Manitowoc, WI. He is also survived by his sister Judy (Bob) Heun, Appleton, WI, and his brother Dan (Joy) Robinson, Dousman, WI. He is further survived by his brother-in-law James Fanslau, Washington, D.C., 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and brother-in-law Mary (Pete) Hoffman and a son Terence Robinson.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 6, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 10729 W. Freidstadt Road, Mequon, WI.

Joan R. Buck

Joan R. Buck, age 90, a Manitowoc resident, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening June 30, 2022 at Angelus Senior Living, Manitowoc.

Joan was born on July 12, 1931 in Clarks Mills, WI, daughter of the late Joseph and Matilda (Pritzl) Anhalt.  She graduated from Valders High School with the class of 1949.  On November 14, 1953 she married Merrill Buck at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc.  In addition to being a homemaker and a wonderful mother she enjoyed Bowling, Golfing and Reading in her spare time.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years; Merrill, Manitowoc, four sons and three daughters-in-law; Steve (Sue) Buck, Franklin, Tim (Kathy) Buck, Oakdale, MN, Perry Buck, New Berlin, Rob (Melissa) Buck, Manitowoc, one daughter and son-in-law; Cheryl (Keith) Redding, Brookfield, ten grandchildren; Mara (Brad) Magner, Rachael (Ryan) Oxton, Chad (Liz) Redding, Maddie (Nick) Stock, Sydney Buck, Abbey Buck, Ashley Buck, Noah Buck, Aiden Buck, Ashton Buck, five great grandchildren; Cade Magner, Brynn Magner, Cole Magner, Sawyer Oxton, Ian Redding, two brothers and one sister-in-law; Wilfred Anhalt and David (Shirley) Anhalt, four sisters and one brother-in-law; Maryann Wotruba, Phyllis Uhrich, Rose Scanlon, Colleen ( Roger) Brunner.  Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

Joan was also preceded in death by two sisters; Charlotte Rovang and Jean Klein, two brothers; Gordon Anhalt and Claude Anhalt, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM on Saturday July 9, 2022 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand (1416 Grand Ave)

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday July 9, 2022 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand (1416 Grand Ave).  Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Doug LeCaptain.  Entombment of her cremated remains will be at Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum at a later date.

Jeanette A. Lambrecht

Jeanette A. Lambrecht, 89, of Gillett, passed away on Sunday evening, June 26, 2022 at Meadowbrook in Oconto Falls. She was born on June 6, 1932, daughter of the late Ervin and Arlene (Moede) Brusewitz. She was a graduate of Bonduel High School with the class of 1952. Jeanette was employed at Northern Shoe Company and later at Gillett Elementary School serving hot lunch in the cafeteria. In May of 1967 she married Wilbur Koeppen. Together they owned and operated Koeppen’s Sportsman’s Bar. Wilbur preceded Jeanette in death in May of 1977. In 1979 Jeanette married Donald Lambrecht, He preceded her in death in 1991. Jeanette loved gardening. She was an avid Packer fan. Jeanette was also very active in her church where she was a member of the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed shopping, going to lunch with friends and most of all spending time with family.

Survivors include an older sister, Doris Priem, twin sister, Genevieve (Roger) Polzin; two special nephews, Bob (Joan) Priem and Michael (Kathy) Polzin; great nieces and nephews, Kimberly, Karl, Kristi, Kerri, Braden and Benjamin; other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ervin and Arlene Brusewitz, her first husband, Wilbur Koeppen and her second husband, Donald Lambrecht.

Visitation for Jeanette will be held on Friday, July 1, 2022 at Faith United Lutheran Church, 11465 Old U, Gillett, from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Officiating at the service will be Rev. John Laatsch. Burial will take place at Immanuel Cemetery, Gillett. La Vonne M. Eggebrecht

La Vonne M. Eggebrecht, 79, Gillett, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2022 with her family by her side. She was born on April 17, 1943 in Trempealeau, WI., daughter of the late Vernon and Florence (Mueller) Buchholz. She was a graduate of Indepence High School 1961. She married Louis Eggebrecht on November 12, 1965. La Vonne loved gardening. She was a loving mother and adored her grandchildren.

LaVonne is survived by six children, Johnny (Kirin) Eggebrecht, Jean Sullivan, Steve (Linda) Eggebrecht, Leah (Brian) Kranz, Paul Eggebrecht and Carrie Eggebrecht; nine grandchildren, Matthew (Lynne), Elma, Laney, Lisa, Samantha, Danielle (Aaron), Tyler, Emily and Maddie; four great-grandchildren, Oliver, Violet, Kayden, Xane; One sister, Beatrice (Donnie) Suchla; one brother, Roger (Marietta) Buchholz; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

She is preceded in death by her husband Louis on January 5, 2013. Her parents Vernon and Florence (Mueller) Buchholz, and step father Rosvil Laehn. Brothers Emil, Richard; and sisters Barbara, Jean, Lucille and Doris.

Esther M. Morris

Esther M. Morris

Esther M. Morris, 93, of Cecil, passed away on Thursday afternoon, June 23, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on June 18, 1929 in Green Valley, daughter of the late Charles and Rose Hanelt. Esther was a graduate of Pulaski High School. In 1949 she married Kermit Morris. They celebrated 73 years of marriage earlier this year. Esther was employed at Pulaski Shoe Factory and Schroeder’s Flower Shop while also raising her family and gardening at home. She could grow anything anywhere. Esther also enjoyed puzzling and reading books. 

Survivors include her husband of 73 years, Kermit Morris, Cecil; three children and their spouses, Darold (Connie) Morris, Shawano, Darla (Rick) Alsteen, Crooked Lake, and Dale (Cindy) Morris, Cecil; one daughter-in-law, Wendy Morris, Shawano; seven grandchildren, Nathan (Marissa) Morris, Jenny (Bruce) Morris, Anne Morris, Julie (Firas) Morris, Peter Morris, Jeremy (Jolene) Morris, and Alan (Katie) Morris; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Dennis Morris; two grandchildren, Rodney Morris, Laura Ragland; and brothers and sisters.

Visitation for Esther will be held on Tuesday morning, June 28, 2022 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, W1294 Nauman Rd., Cecil from 9:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM. Officiating at the service will be Rev. John Laatsch with burial to follow at St. Anthony Cemetery, Oconto Falls.
