John S. Wirock (Wiercioch) Sr.

On November 3, 2020, John Wirock (Wiercioch) of Abrams WI passed away unexpectedly at the age of 75 doing what he loved, farming on his tractor.

John was born in Chicago, Ill to the late Stanley and Josephine Wirock in 1945. He worked for the city of Chicago in the early 1970’s then became a truck driver, driving rails in Chicago then over the road for many years. He loved semis of all kinds but his favorites were Mack’s and Peterbilt’s. He could drive anything you gave him with ease and had no problem backing up anything from a 52’ trailer in the tightest corner of downtown Chicago to a piece of farm machinery. In the early 1990’s he started farming which he learned from his Aunt Helen and Uncle Mike also of Abrams, WI – who taught him about farming and started his love for the outdoors in the 1950’s. He loved his family, trucks and the farm, especially “Red”.

He is known for his quick witted and sometimes dry sense of humor, love for family and close friends. His love for aggravating someone just to get a response and anyone that would listen to his stories.

John Sr. is survived by, and waiting for his 3 children; Lisa (Jim Porn) Jones, Lora (Joe) Fitzsimmons, John Wiercioch Jr. (special loved one’s Stephanie, and her children Madi and Morgyn). Grandchildren; Haley, Bobbie Lee, Bobby, Thunder, Keegan, Shawna, Kilian, Johnny Jozie and Bobbie Jo. Great-Grandchildren; Kenna, Caydin, Gracie, Lexie, KC, Gabby, Marcus, Emarie, SyAnna, Kaydence and Graceland. His (ex)wife Virginia, sister Mary Lou Nowinski, nephews; Richie (Dacia), Scottie (Logan) and Brian (Cole and Taylor/Jess), nieces; Louise and Cindy. Preceded in death by his father Stanley, mother Josephine, Aunt Helen and Uncle Mike.

Visitation will take place November 10, 2020 at Kuehl Funeral Home in Gillett, WI from 10am to 1pm with a procession to follow to St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Sobieski, WI. He will be transported by a dear family member to his final resting place via semi with his “favorite daughter-Red” following behind him, then the rest of us.  Kuehl Funeral Home is honored to serve the family during this difficult time.
