Jamie E. Wetzel

May 20, 1970 – October 26, 2016

Jamie E. Wetzel, age 46, Gillett, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Bellin Healthcare in Green Bay. He was surrounded by family.

Jamie was born in Oconto Falls, on May 20, 1970, a son of Steven and Bonnie (Miller) Wetzel. He attended local schools, and was a lifetime resident of the area. Jamie was married to Carmen (Wudtke) on May 18, 2002 at St. John’s Lutheran Church and together they raised three sons. He had a lifelong connection to farming and was presently working his own 50 acre farm. Jamie also worked as an agronomist and together with his partner, Phil Tuschy, owned and operated Direct Ag, LLC. Jamie was an avid hunter, golfer and sports enthusiast, was a big Packer fan and enjoyed snowmobiling. His greatest love, however, was for his family. With Jamie, his sons were his #1 priority. He will be sadly missed.

Jamie is survived by his parents, Steve and Bonnie Wetzel, his loving wife, Carmen, his sons: Alex, Jerald and Jacob and his sister, Amy (Cameron Rank) Debauch. He also leaves his in-laws: James and Karen Wudtke, Johnathan (Amy) Wudtke and his nieces and nephews: Alyza (Aaryn) Koebach, Amberlee Debauch, Berkley Debauch, Corbin Rank, Rebecca and Janel Wudtke. He is further survived by aunts and uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Friends and relatives may call on the family on SATURDAY, October 29, 2016 from 9 to 10:45 AM at ST. JOHN’S LUTHERAN CHURCH (101 W. Main Street, Gillett). A funeral service will follow at 11 AM with Reverend Kent Wallace officiating. Private interment will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.

For those wishing, memorials are appreciated to the family. The family sends special thanks to the Bellin ICU staff.
