Judith A. Genke

Judy A. Genke, age 82, formerly of Gillett, WI passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023. She was born on December 6, 1940 in the town of How to the late Elmer and Isabell Gardebrecht. Judy graduated from Suring High School in 1958. She worked at the Plywood in Gillett and then Lindwood in Mosling until they closed. Judy then worked at the Gillett nursing home until retirement. In her younger years, Judy enjoyed going to polka dances and fishing with her best friend Vic. She also enjoyed flower gardening, playing cards, bingo, birdwatching, and watching game shows. More than anything, Judy loved spending time with her family, especially visiting her daughter, son-in-law, granddaughter, and grand-dogs. Judy is survived by her daughter, Brenda Burkard; her son-in-law, Gary Burkard; and her granddaughter Isabella Burkard; as well as siblings, Darlene Buhrandt, Susan Druckrey, and Dan (Teri) Gardebrecht; sisters in-law, Cheryl Gardebrecht, Connie Gardebrecht; and best friend Vic Milhans. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Isabell Gardebrecht; and brothers Richard Gardebrecht and Harvey Gardebrecht; brother-in-law Lawrence Buhrandt; and two infant sons, Todd and Jeffery Genke.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023 at St. John Lutheran Church, 101 W Main St., Gillett, from 11:30 AM until the time of service at 1:30 PM. Officiating at the funeral service will be Rev. Chris Byars, with burial to follow at St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery, Gillett.

The family would like to thank the staff of Matthews Senior Living in Wrightstown and Moments Hospice for the excellent care provided to Judy.

Jane E. Jeske

Jane E. Jeske, 59, of Peshtigo, passed away early Tuesday morning, December 20, 2022 at Arbor Village. She was born on August 28, 1963, in Oconto Falls, daughter of the late Maynard Sr. and Diane (Schmidt) Jeske.

Jane attended schools in Suring and Gillett. She loved scratch off lottery tickets and doing crosswords. For a short time, Jane also enjoyed knitting afghans and potholders. She loved her dog Mikey and was a huge Mickey Mouse Fan, collecting various items.

Jane is survived by one brother: Scott Jeske; aunts and uncles: Bernard (Susan) Jeske, Richard (Laura Jean) Jeske, Phyllis (David) Wilson; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Maynard Sr. and Diane Jeske; one brother: Maynard Jr.; and one uncle Daniel Jeske.

Visitation for Jane will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the Kuehl Funeral Home, 108 E Main St, Gillett, from 9:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM. Officiating at the memorial service will be Rev. Michael Paholke. Cremation has occurred and Jane will be laid to rest near her parents in Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery, Hintz.

Paul Michael Shane Wozniak

Paul Michael Shane Wozniak, 47, of Green Bay, passed away unexpectedly on December 9, 2022. He was born on August 5, 1975 in Lake Geneva, son of the late Theodore and Carol (Grosschadle) Wozniak.

Paul was a graduate of Menominee, MI High School. On July 29, 2006, he married Jennifer Drake in Appleton. Sadly, Jen preceded him in death on November 12 of this year. Together they enjoyed taking road trips to various destinations both near and far. Paul enjoyed playing guitar. He loved AC/DC and scary movies. His favorite was Halloween. Paul also loved spending time with his beloved pup, Lily. Paul was employed as a freelance photographer and creative writer.

Survivors include three sisters: Brenda (Joe) Conard; Robin (Rob) and Dawn; a niece and nephew: Katie and Nathan Conard; his mother-in-law: Kathleen Drake and sister-in-law: Elizabeth Drake; many cousins, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Jennifer Wozniak; and his parents: Theodore and Carol Wozniak.

Cremation has occurred and Paul and Jennifer will be laid to rest together at a later date.

Virginia ‘Jinx’ E. Nevins

Virginia (Jinx) E. Nevins, 77, Green Bay, passed away on Saturday morning, November 19, 2022 at Unity Hospice Meng Residence, De Pere. She was born on May 2, 1945 in Laona, daughter of the late Hubert and Georgia (Stubbs) Tuell.

Jinx attended Gillett High School with the class of 1963. She was employed as a sugar boiler with Western Sugar Co-op for many years. On December 23, 1981 she married Allen Leroy Nevins. He preceded her in death on May 5, 2018. Jinx made her home in Benson, AZ for 15 years before returning to Wisconsin.

Jinx’s hobby for more than 20 years was doll making. She owned her own kiln and fired her own porcelain doll parts. Jinx learned to hand sew all of their clothes. She attended “doll class” every week in Arizona. Jinx was extremely involved in the San Pedro Resort Community Church where she lived in Arizona. She created newsletters on a weekly basis and helped with services each week. Jinx and Leroy were avid motorcycle lovers and traveled the entire US camping, Jeeping and ATVing. They were members of the Gold Wing Riders Association of America and the Colorado FCRV camping club for many years. The two of them always looked forward to their monthly outings and Spring Fling that was held annually in Brush CO. Every Monday they went with their 4-wheel drive group of friends “Boonie Crashing” in the desert. Each week a new destination was selected to explore. It was not uncommon to discover abandoned treasures. It also allowed them to participate in another hobby Jinx and Leroy enjoyed together, Geo-caching. Prior to moving to AZ, they had been members of United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a son and two daughters-in-law, Howard “Sonny” (Sheila) Crandall, Jr. and Cecelia Crandall; one daughter, Kathrine Crandall-Holtz and Life Partner, Dave LaMontagne; one stepdaughter, Cheryl (Michael) Denton; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Allen (Janeva) Tuell, George (Rita) Tuell, Wilma (Wayne) Roskom, Buck (Holly) Tuell, Myra Soapes, June (Charles) Grutza; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one son, Timothy Crandall; one stepson, Clint Nevins; one brother, Donald Tuell, and one brother-in-law, Jessie Soapes.

A visitation for Jinx will be held at Kuehl Funeral Home, 108 E Main Street, Gillett, on Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 9:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM. Officiating at the memorial service will be Rev. Laura Reimer. Cremation has occurred and Jinx will be laid to rest at a later date. Jennifer M. Wozniak

Jennifer M. Wozniak, 39, passed away Saturday afternoon, November 12, 2022 at St. Vincent Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born in Green Bay on November 29, 1982, daughter of Kathleen (Budzis) and the late Willis Drake.

Jen attended Green Bay schools, graduating from West High School with the class of 2001. In 2011 she received her Associates Degree in Business Management from Rasmussen University. On July 29, 2006 Jen married Paul Wozniak in Appleton. Jen was a very outgoing, fun-loving person. She was always putting others first and was willing to help anybody in need. She enjoyed writing poetry. Jen loved playing golf and watching the Packers and Bucks. Jen and Paul enjoyed going on road trips together. Some of their favorite places were Clearwater Beach, Florida, Door County and Upper Michigan. But, most of all Jen was passionate about animal rights.

Survivors include her loving husband, Paul Wozniak; her mother, Kathleen Drake; one sister, Elizabeth Drake; a sister-in-law, Brenda (Joe) Conard; and her dog, Lily; many uncles (Uncle Bubs!), cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by her father, Willis Drake; and her maternal grandparents, Michael and Bernice Budzis.
