Allan J. Christensen

Allan Jay Christensen, age 60, passed away peacefully in his residence on Monday, December 16, 2019 after courageously battling Huntington’s Disease for many years.  Family and nurses were there by his side.

Allan was born in Oconto Falls, WI., on August 3, 1959, a son of the late Vernon and Delores (Gilbertson) Christensen.  He graduated from Gillett High School with the class of 1977.  Allan was active in wrestling and football during school and went on to wrestle in State Championships.  Allan resided in Pulcifer during his adolescence and later moved to Suring with his family.  He worked for Brickform Concrete most of his adult life as a foreman, but due to illness he retired early.  Allan was very active in outdoor activities and loved to enjoy them with his siblings and his children.  He loved to fish in any kind of weather and never left the woods without finding his deer.  He was happiest in nature and loved to take trips to see all the sights that he could.  Allan was also interested in playing pool with his friends while enjoying a few beverages.  Allan was the best father to his children and really enjoyed spending all the time he could with them.  A couple of his favorite things to do was watch WWE with the kids and pretend wrestle them in the middle of the living room floor, and he also enjoyed building snow forts or giving us face washes with the snow.  Any day the Green Bay Packers were on TV, no one else could touch the TV until dad said the Packers were done playing.  He loved taking the family to Packer Family Night and always kept up on the latest Packer news.  Allan loved to celebrate and decorate for the holidays, especially Christmas and Halloween.  Allan was loved so much by his two children who did anything they could to help him and their mom when he got sick.

Allan is survived by his spouse: Laure Christensen of Suring; his two children: Joey and Carly Christensen of Suring; his mother: Delores Christensen of Pulaski; four siblings: Jane (Russell) Herrmann of Ferryville, Todd Christensen of Appleton, Kevin (Joyce) Christensen of Appleton, Neal (Heidi) Christensen of Pulaski; many nieces and nephews: Rebecca (Michael) Panetti, Anthony Christensen, Amy (Eric) Wieczorek, Dan Herrmann, Carrie Zenk, Craig Zenk, Rachel Vanark, Nathan Vanark, Allison (Casey) Blohm, Abigail (Jordan) Napper, Walker Christensen, Rider Christensen, and Mason Christensen.  He is further survived by many great nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many loving friends.

Allan was preceded in death by his father: Vernon Christensen, his first-born son: Cory Christensen, his brother: Larry Christensen, and two sisters: Debbie Zenk and Gail Christensen.

Family members will greet relatives and friends during a memorial visitation on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at the Kuehl Funeral Home in Gillett, WI from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm.

Memorial Services will be held after visitation from 7 pm.  Bill Gruenstern will be officiating the service, guiding Allan to his new home with God.  Burial will be in the spring at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
