Charlotte B. (Philippi) Klatt, 95, Suring, formerly of Underhill, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2019.

She was born in Suring, WI on October 31, 1923, the seventh of eight children to John and Katharine (Holl) Philippi.  Charlotte attended Suring schools where she enjoyed playing the clarinet and was a 1941 graduate of Suring High School.  She went on to serve as a Candy Striper during WWII.

Charlotte enjoyed dancing, singing, playing cards, and gardening.  She was quite versatile and enjoyed a wide variety of hobbies and crafts.  Her favorite beverage was Sun Drop.

She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Gillett, and for a short time, All Saints Catholic Church in Berlin, WI.

For many years she ran the pickle grading station in Underhill.  After that she worked at the glove factory in Gillett and most summers people could find her selling sweet corn in front of the Gillett Milling Company.

Charlotte is survived by her four children, Catharine Hamblin of San Antonio, TX, Mervin Charles (Nancy) Brunette Jr. of Ripon, WI, Gilbert Petersen Jr. of Des Moines, IA, and Crystal Carson of Verona, WI.  Charlotte is also survived by her son-in-law Lyman Wocking.  She has 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Charlotte “Charrie” Wocking and her three husbands Mervin Brunette Sr., Gilbert Petersen Sr., and Arnold Klatt.

Friends and relatives may call on the family on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 from 5 to 7 pm at LEGACY FUNERAL CHAPELS (108 East Main Street, Gillett).  Visitation continues Wednesday, September 4, 2019 from 9 to 10:45 am at ST. JOHN’S CATHOLIC CHURCH (127 Garden Avenue, Gillett).  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 am with Fr. Robert NiNi officiating.  Burial will follow in the Underhill Cemetery.
