Florence L. Winkler

Florence L. Winkler

June 13, 1924 – March 30, 2017

Florence L. (Rusch) Winkler, age 92, Underhill, passed away in the evening hours of Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Woodlands of Suring.

She was born at home in the Town of Maple Valley on June 13, 1924, a daughter of the late Otto and Lizzie (Luebke) Rusch and attended the Four-Town Schoolhouse. She was married to Art Winkler on December 4, 1943 and together they raised a daughter and two sons. Florence worked at Friday Canning Company for several years before retiring.

Florence was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Gillett and enjoyed taking bus tours with Art in earlier years.

Florence is survived by her children: Cheryl (Gilman) Smoot of Minneapolis, Dale Winkler of Mountain and Miles (Donna) Winkler of Gillett; four grandchildren: Nicholas (Kerry) Winkler of Green Bay, Justin (Phyllis) Smoot of Kendallville, IN, Jenalee (Derek) D’Amico of Waukesha and Elizabeth (Ben) Breitenfeldt of West Allis; great grandchildren: Payten and Laina Winkler, Lillian and Genevieve Smoot, Bryce D’Amico and Joshua Stangel. She also leaves a sister-in-law, Mildred Winkler of Suring, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and many lifelong friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Art and her siblings: Norman, Walter, Arlyle, Olivia, Harold and Eugene.

Friends and relatives may call on WEDNESDAY, April 5, 2017 from 5 to 8 PM at LEGACY FUNERAL CHAPELS (108 E. Main Street, Gillett, WI 54124). Visitation continues THURSDAY, April 6, 2017 from 9:30 until 10:45 AM at ST. JOHN’S LUTHERAN CHURCH (101 W. Main Street, Gillett, WI 54124). A funeral service will follow at 11 AM with Reverend Kent Wallace officiating. Interment will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.

The family of Florence Winkler sends their deepest thanks to the Woodlands of Suring staff. Your kindness and compassion will never be forgotten.

Mandi Lee

Mandi Lee

November 11, 1984 – March 07, 2017

Mandi (Bee) Lee was born on November 11, 1984 to Wa Seng Lee and Ying Xiong in Ban Vinai Refugee Camp, Thailand.

On January 24th, 1990, Mandi and her family were given the opportunity to start a new beginning set for the United States of America. They made Saint Paul, Minnesota home. In 1998 she attended Como High school and later continued her studies at Minneapolis Community College. She received many academic achievements of Excellency and was head of her class. She was rewarded a trip to Washington D.C for her achievements.

On August 4th, 2001, Mandi married the love of her life Chao Xiong. On May 17th, 2005, Mandi and Chao were blessed with a beautiful and healthy son, Alex Xiong. Mandi’s hobbies are traveling, singing, cooking, fishing and spending time with her loved ones, but most of all she enjoys embracing the serene beauty of life. On July 14th, 2013 she relocated to Moorhead, MN where Mandi’s love for higher education continued at Moorhead Community College, majoring in electrical engineering. She was set to graduate in May 2017.

Mandi Lee is survived by her Husband, Chao Xiong, and Son, Alex Xiong, her Father, Wa Seng Lee, Mother Ying Xiong, Sister Bao Lee and her four Brothers, Ma, Mor, Ger and Chai Lee.

She will forever be remembered for her heart of gold, patience, smart, tranquility and unconditional love. She will always be cherished and loved by her Husband, Son, family and friends. May your love endure forever in our hearts and enjoy the rest of your days rejoicing in the name of the Lord.

Visitation Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 9 AM to 12 AM, Sunday March 19, 2017 from 9 AM to 12 AM and Monday, March 20, 2017 from 8 AM to 11 AM. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, DePere.
