Hazel A Krueger of Appleton, 96, died on Tuesday December 30, 2014 surrounded by family.
Hazel was born December 13, 1918 in Kelly Lake to the late Edward and Goldie (Graham) Kadlec. She met her husband, Walter Krueger, and they were united in marriage on September 8, 1940 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Gillett. After their marriage she moved to Gillett and helped on the Krueger family farm where she enjoyed raising her 11 children and watching her grandchildren grow. Hazel took joy in being outdoors and visiting Kelly Lake, where she grew up. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Gillett and the former WELCA.
She is survived by her children; Walter (Debbie) Krueger, David (Deenie) Krueger, Marilynn (Jim) Hansen, Steve (Mary) Krueger, Doug (Mary) Krueger, Tom (Ellen) Krueger, John (Victoria) Krueger, Virginia (Audie) Thor, Karen (Craig) Hemken, Matthew (Rebecca) Krueger , 18 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, sisters; June Schenk, Merle Sweeney, brothers; Edward (Gerry) Kadlec, Gary (Sue) Kadlec, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, daughter; Faye Krueger, grandson; Daren Krueger, brothers; Sterling Kadlec, Luke Kadlec, sisters; Evelyn Foster, Jane Stastny and Carol Herm.
Friends may call from 10:30 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. Friday January 2, 2015 at Brewster Village, Appleton. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Dennis Nelson officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in Wanderers Rest Cemetery.

Gloria A Schmidt of Gillett, 81, died December 30, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was born on April 12, 1933 to the late Elden Kohn and Lucille (Zahn) Kohn. Gloria married her husband Elroy Schmidt on November 14, 1953 in White Clay Lake. She spent her life focusing on her children, church and cooking. Gloria was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Gillett, where she also spent a number of years cleaning.
Survivors include her children, Keith (Merri) Schmidt of Homestead, FL, Mark (Sue) Schmidt of Sylvania, OH, Michael (Shirley) Schmidt of Kenosha, Randy Schmidt of Gillett, Karie (Dale) Kuhn of Underhill; eight grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers, Alan Kohn of Virginia, Wayne Kohn of Gillett; sister, Gerry Lauersdorf of Gillett.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Elroy; brothers; Ronald Kohn, Larry Kohn, Lyle Kohn
A private family gathering will take place.

Lawrence J. Schmidt, 55, of 450 S Milwaukee St, Oconto Falls, died on Friday December 19, 2014.
Larry was born on August 20, 1959 in Shawano to the late Earl and Anna (Hoffman) Schmidt growing up on the Green Valley Farms in the Town of Green Valley. Larry later moved with his parents to Gillett where he lived until moving to Oconto Falls. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, country music concerts, bowling and participating in the Special Olympics where he won numerous medals and trophies. He was fond of the weather channel where he kept a watchful eye out for storms. Larry had worked at O.J.’s Midtown Restaurant in Gillett, and the Falls Family Restaurant in Oconto Falls. New View Industries in Gillett currently employed him. Larry enjoyed collecting dinosaur books and figures. He especially loved to dance the polka and had great moves in the chicken dance. With his outgoing and happy personality he was very popular among his friends. Larry looked dapper wearing one of his many cowboy hats.
He is survived by sisters; Helen Montie, of Gillett; Margaret (Henry) Czachor, of Green Bay; brothers; Carl (Carol) Schmidt, of DePere; John (Diane) Schmidt, of Kansas City, Kansas; David (Marilyn) Schmidt, of Green Bay; Philip (Katie) Schmidt, of Neenah; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Dale Montie; nephew, Chris Schmidt, and niece Angela Czachor.
A special thank you to the staff of Visions for the loving care provided to Larry over many years.
Friends may call from 2 P.M. – 4 P.M. Monday, December 22 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Gillett. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 4 P.M. Monday with the Reverend Dean Dombroski and Sister Marla Clercx officiating. Internment will take place following the Mass in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery.
A memorial fund is being established.
