Harold Oscar Fust

November 19, 1920 – February 27, 2014

US VeteranHarold O. Fust of Shawano, formerly of Gillett passed away Feb. 27, 2014. He was born Nov. 19, 1920 to the late Fred and Bertha Fust near Wittenburg. On June 13, 1942 he married Annabelle Huntington. She preceded him in death on Dec. 31, 2006. Harold served in World War II in the Army Air Corp from Nov. 4, 1942-Dec. 28, 1945 in New Guinea, Biak and Philippines receiving a Bronze Star. When he returned home from the war, he became a farmer and a logger and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Harold was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Hintz and served many years as an elder of the church.

Harold is survived by two children; David (Sigi) Fust of Crivitz and Deborah (Steven) Schroeder of Gillett. Five grandchildren; Flori (Jim) Jesperson of Merrill, Harold D. Fust of Sobieski, Hans Fust of NV, Monique (Rob) Rosenthal of Appleton, and Jenelle Schroeder of Gillett. Nine great-grandchildren; Heidi (Josh) Odegard, Paul and David Jesperson, Alex Fust, Gavin and Rafe Rosenthal, Draven, LilyAnne, and Oni Schroeder. Three great-great granddaughters; Madelyn, Isabelle and Amelia Odegard. One sister Alice Knope of Clintonville, two sisters-in-law Delores Ziemer of Shawano, Harriet Brooks of FL; and one brother-in-law Bert (Carol) Huntington of Shawano and many dear nieces, nephews and friends. Harold was preceded in death by one son Elmer Fust, on great-grandson James Fust, two sisters, Viola Ross and Edna Fink and one brother Elmer Fust.

Harold’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Birch Hill Care Center for their great care and friendship while he was there with them. Also, to Heartland Hospice for being there for us as Harold’s Journey came to an end. Thank you to everyone who would visit and remember Harold with beautiful cards and prayers and to Pastor Michael Paholke for his hunting and fishing stories he shared with Harold and for all his spiritual support.

Friends may call from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Tuesday March 4, 2014 at Christ Lutheran Church, Hintz. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., at the church with Pastor Mike Paholke officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery at a later date. Kuehl Funeral Home will be assisting the family

June E. Hubbard passed away Feb 2, 2014 at Sharpe Care Nursing Home in Oconto Falls. She was born July 25, 1917 to the late Arthur and Linda Lutz. She is survived by one son; Dennis Hubbard, Green Bay, One daughter; Susan (Gary) Moeller, Grafton, a son-in-law Kenneth Schultz, Greenville, seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death was her husband Roy, a daughter; Judy Schultz, and granddaughter; Christine Moeller, two sisters; Evelyn and Violet, and a brother; Elroy. The family wishes to thank Dr. Maltinski and all the staff and residents at Sharpe-Care for their thoughtfulness, care and respect they showed to June during her stay. Friends may call at Kuehl Funeral Home (920)855-2144, Gillett, from 2:00 p.m. until 4 p.m. Thursday February 6, 2014. The funeral service will begin at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Diane Rew officiating.
