US VeteranLADDIE J. HODNY, 75, Gillett, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening October 26, 2011 at the Jack and Ingrid Meng Residence of Unity Hospice, DePere, following a two year battle with cancer.
Laddie was born September 19, 1936 in Lankin, ND to the late Laddie and Lillian (Pich) Hodny.
Laddie was a 1955 graduate of Lankin High School. Following high school graduation, he served in the U.S. Army for two years. He then attended Mayville State College, Mayville, ND graduating with a BS degree in Business Education in 1963. Laddie began his employment as a Business Ed teacher at Fairdale, ND. In 1965, he was employed as a Business Ed teacher at Gillett High School until his retirement in 1994.
On June 18, 1966 he married Darlene M. Sorensen at St. John’s Catholic Church, Gillett where he was a member. He served as usher at church.
Laddie loved being outdoors, planting trees and cutting fire wood. He also loved to return to his hometown in Lankin, ND where he would visit his home farm, his family and friends. He especially loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Laddie is survived by his wife Darlene, Gillett; his children and their spouses Kristin and Brian Coopman, Oconto Falls; Michael and Lorie, Elkhorn; Mark and Cynthia, Campbellsport; his grandchildren Tyler Coopman, Elizabeth Coopman, Ellen Hodny, Janie Hodny, Lucas Hodny and Jack Hodny; two brothers and one sister-in-law William and Joann, Mandan, ND; John Lapic, Lankin, ND; brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Laddie was preceded in death by one sister-in-law Doris Hodny, and his step father Lloyd Lapic.
Family and friends called from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 28 at the Kuehl Funeral Home, Gillett 920-855-2144. A parish prayer service was held at 7:45 p.m. Friday at the funeral Home. Visitation was also held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday, at St. John’s Catholic Church, So. Garden Ave., Gillett. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday October 29, 2011, at the church. The Rev. Dave Barrett and Sr. Marla Clercx officiated. Interment in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Town of Gillett.
A memorial fund has been established and will be designated at a later date.

MRS. WILLIAM “BILL” (MARTHA G.) WOLF.

51, Green Valley, went home on Wednesday evening October 26, 2011 at her home, with her family at her side, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Martha was born October 14, 1960 in Oconto Falls to the late Chester and Phyllis (Maroszek) Filipiak.
She graduated from Oconto Falls High School with the class of 1978.
On April 25, 1987, Martha married William “Bill” Wolf in Oconto.
Martha was employed by various dairy farms in the area with the most recent being Fairview Dairy Farms, Town of Morgan.
She liked German Shepherds, Tulips, Lilacs, and Day Lilies. She was a fabulous cook.
Martha enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and word searches in her free time. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt.
Martha is survived by her husband Bill, Green Valley; her children Jodie Wolf, Green Valley; Jenny Wolf, Gillett; Michael, William Jr, and Jonathon, all of Green Valley; her siblings Rosemary Filipiak, Abrams; Clarence Filipiak, Sheboygan; Alice (Mike) Chapin, Brookside, Violet (Rick) Hansen, Green Bay; Fran Filipiak, Pulaski; Tom (Kathy) Filipiak, Abrams; Patty (Rick) Kurtz, Steve (special friend Rene) Filipiak, all of Cecil; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Holly and Oliver “Buck” Tuell, Green Bay; Rick and Becky Wolf, Abrams; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Martha was preceded in death by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Fritz and Shirley Wolf.
Family and friends called from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, October 29 at the Kuehl Funeral Home, Gillett 920-855-2144, and then from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral Home. Funeral Services 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 30, 2011, at the funeral home. Pastor Bill Kamke officiated. Interment is in Wanderers Rest Cemetery, Gillett.
